Victor Wassner, Director of Agronomy
Victor is in charge of our golf course grounds crew, course conditioning, etc. Victor's hard work and dedication to the facility along with his knowledge of turfgrass and turfgrass maintenance offers Shadow Valley the opportunity to have beautiful fairways, greens, tees and approaches. Shadow Valley really enjoys having Victor as he has been a part of the team for over 10 years. His leadership and expertise are greatly appreciated...come by and wave to him out on the fairway today.
T.J. Gomez, PGA Director of Golf
T.J. Gomez, a graduate of Boise State University, has been a golf professional in the Treasure Valley for the past twelve years. During his time as a golf professional, he has dedicated time and energy to becoming one of the best golf instructors in the region. This dedication has shown through with his students as they continuously have tremendous success. In 2004, T.J. was selected as the "Junior Golf Leader" for the Rocky Mountain Section PGA, an honor he is very proud of. Similarly, T.J. was recognized, in 2005, 2007, and 2008, by U.S. Kids Golf, as one of the Top 50 kids teachers in the U.S.
T.J. was also honored in 2007 as the Rocky Section PGA Merchandiser of the Year for his work in servicing his membership and the public with an outstanding merchandising operation.
T.J. grew up in Tucson, AZ where he attended Tucson High School and Pima Community College. He is a product of the Arizona Junior Golf Association where he competed at a high level during his junior golf days in Arizona. He moved to Boise in 1995 to play golf for Boise State...
2009 will mark his seventh season at Shadow Valley. During the course of his time at Shadow Valley, T.J. has given much effort to "'providing the best possible atmosphere we can for golfing, player development and improvement, and fun."
Bud Sower, PGA Teaching Professional, has been with Shadow Valley Golf Course for the past 20 seasons, spending the majority of this timeas the PGA Head Professional. During this time he has developed a tremendous following as people from all over the Treasure Valley have had the opportunity to enjoy his instruction. For the past couple of seasons Bud has been enjoying his "retirement" as an instructor. Bud provides first-class instruction to every student from junior golfers and beginnners to experienced players. Come out and see him today either on the practice tee or in the clubhouse.
Bill's Club Repair is another fantastic addition to Shadow Valley, allowing us the opportunity to offer first-class club repair and fitting services to all of our members and players. Bob Campbell, PGA Teaching Professional, is another solid addition to the Shadow Valley Golf Improvement Center. His teaching expertise and concern for his students, unparalleled in the Treasure Valley, really shows through in all of his lessons and instruction. Bob, a PGA Professional for the past 25 years, is one of the most respected players and instructors in the area. He was honored as Rocky Mountain PGA Section "Teacher of the Year" in 2000 and coached the 2002 PGA Junior Champion, Tyler Aldridge.
In addition to Bob's talents as an instructor he is also one of the most accomplished players in the area. In the years 2001 and 2002 he advanced to the final stages of Senior Tour Qualifying. Similarly, he has been awarded the Rocky Mountain Section PGA Senior Player of the Year in 2001 and 2002. Prior to offering instruction at Shadow Valley, Bob was the Head Golf Coach at Boise State University for 9 years.
Tysen Hunt will be starting his 3rd season at Shadow Valley Golf Course in 2009. He assists with all types of activities at Shadow Valley including: day-to-day operations, club-fitting, merchandising, tournament operations, staff management, junior golf lead instructor, and more.
Tysen began playing golf at age of seven, a product of the Hilo Hawaii Junior Golf Program. He joined the Air Force where he was the 2002 and 2003 base champion at Grand Forks AFB in North Dakota competing against a field including the base pro.
In 2004 Tysen was assigned to the Soto Cono Joint Task Air Force Base in Honduras SA where he became the base golf instructor. As an armateur he was a very low single digit handicapper.
Tysen hopes to share his experience and passion for the game of golf with others in a way that encourages a lasting joy in the great pastime sport!
After serving 20 years in the Army, Roy started his professional golf career in 2003. He obtained his certificate from the U. S. Golf Teaching Association in 2003 and entered the PGA Professional Golf Management program later that same year, obtaining his Class A PGA Membership in February of 2010.
Roy has been teaching golf and working as the Assistant Golf Professional at Purple Sage golf course in Caldwell, ID for the past 6 ½ years. During this time he has garnered much experience teaching golfers of all abilities and with junior clinics and workshops that he has held during the summer months. He is great at teaching young children, not only the golf basics, but the etiquette and respect for the game. A few of the juniors he has worked with are now at college playing for their respective schools on golf scholarships. 2010 will mark Roy’s first year at Shadow Valley Golf Course.
Roy enjoyed playing in competitive amateur golf events during his long military career, playing in tournaments all over the world. He now competes and participates in many of the Rocky Mountain PGA Section events.
